And, just like I promised, Here is the "Skinny" for our hallway.  I think that it is the PERFECT size to hang in our hallway.  It definitely is a great surprise to see from my front door.  Now I need a whole new collection of Skinnies?  This reminds me of fashion dilemmas right?  Don't they always pose a waterfall of problems??? YES!  Anyway ;)


The quilting on this runner wasn't anything spectacular but today's quilting did stand out for the one specific reason - I did not have one problem.!.  I managed to get my tension under control after a couple of months of struggling with it.  There is nothing like a little self-doubt and frustration to set you back a bit.  I have to admit that I was getting a little perturbed by the whole situation.  So thank goodness I had a good day today.


I didn't LOVE the background quilting in the Fall block but I think that I am just a little out of practice for creative backgrounding.  I can do the simple stuff no problem but I have regressed a little bit in the creative smooth part.  I was aiming for leaves blowing in the wind.  I am going to make a point to get some of that creative smooth back.  I haven't had the time to put into long-arming as I would have liked.  It is because of all the misc sewing I have been doing lately.  On the positive side - at least I have the other kind of back grounding down.


Also, I was able to get another thing checked off my list today as well.  I made another Sweet Diaper Bag (available in my Pattern shop tab #2) to take to Quilt Market with me for my exhibit.  I love this vinyl and my roll is seriously depleted. There isn't much more I can make from it :(

All of the inner pockets turned out so nice.  This bag was very enjoyable to sew this time.  Even the changing pad was a snap.

One of my favorite parts of this bag is still the gathered top.




Next thing to tackle is booth decorations!!! EEEK :)

Priority Swapping.

1. Double Wedding Ring - I decided to get this quilt out again and stack it on my piano and now it is stacked on the safe.  I am doing okay on this project.  I pin until other things of greater priority develop.


2. Wild Horse Quilt  - I am making the quilt that will be raffled off during the wild horse event for this year.  I have been working on it the last two days.  I made great progress today but still have to stitch the appliqué portions before I sew it all together.  I like the colors and the pattern is from a book I have had a few years (Material Obsession).  The colors were so similar so I decided to keep it simple for me and follow a super cute pattern.  I stacked it up until this next week.


3. Diaper Bag, Receiving Blankets, Crib Sheet - We got news that our family was expecting their little addition a little sooner than expected ( about three weeks early).  I had to get on it asap so I packed the quilt on the floor away as quickly I could by getting most of the quilt sewn together.  Then I gathered the fabric and got started.



I made my Slouchy Bag pattern in new fabrics and loved the combination.  I plan on updating the pattern with some new pics.  I got the items finished a little after the new addition arrived ( a few hours).  I plan on dropping them off tomorrow and getting to see the little one in person.  I was hoping to have all my items ready but I have a few more little things to add, but that will give me an excuse to drop by later and see the new addition again.  So actually, that is a better plan.






4. Laundry - Unfortunately laundry has again jumped up the priority list so tomorrow at some point I need to dedicate a little bit of time to that not so much fun thing.  The pile is so big and the options are getting slim for the kids.  Positive side of that is that I am pretty good at finishing it fairly speedy so no worries and then maybe I could get a little bit more finished on my Priority List.



5. Long Arm Pile - There is one other pile and it isn't Laundry.  I have a little bit to catch up on and a quilt to make.  But they are going to have to wait at least for now because we have friends for the weekend staying with us.

Here is my new pattern :) (UPDATE - I have it finished and it is available in my pattern shop tab #2 and Etsy and) I don't have it uploaded on the pattern sites yet but I will hopefully have it all ready to go by the end of next week. I seriously had post-it-notes stuck all over the way of the things that I needed to finish before I left and I only got about five hours of sleep each night, which for me is three to four short.

 Anyway, I was super excited to share this little bag. It is cute as a backpack or just a purse or whatever bag.  Well, I am officially on the plane when this posts. I was able to do a few posts that will hopefully add as I am gone.

 The strap is adjustable and the bag can be worn a couple different ways, even as a messenger bag.  Don't my kids look happy... just kidding.  It was a little chilly.

Of course you need to have a big version and a small version.  Well, this bag has tons of extras and it was inspired by my recent bag I was able to make.  I just thought it was fun adding all of the extra hardware.  It makes sewing a little exciting.
